You do need to be fit enough to walk because that\u2019s what you will be doing. A Kilimanjaro climb is a very slow walk all the way up and down.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\"><strong>But that does not mean you need no Kilimanjaro training at all!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So, the best Kilimanjaro training is to simply walk as often as you can and as much as you can<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wear the boots you will be wearing on the climb<\/li>\n<li>Wear the day pack that you intend to take<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have never done much hiking, start a few months before your departure date and start slowly on the look for nature trails if there any within your reach head for hills, mountains or countryside is best<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2af9091 elementor-widget it.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b77220a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b77220a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Use the weekends to do full day hikes and if possible overnight hikes then you should be able to walk in hilly country for 6 -8 hours and the get up and do it again the next day.<\/p>\n<p>Your days on Kilimanjaro will be shorter but you will be affected by the altitude, so building up a bit of extra stamina sure won\u2019t hurt.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately sufficient fitness is no guarantee that you will reach the top because there is also the issue of altitude sickness on Kilimanjaro.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e2f21b0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"e2f21b0\" data-element_type=\"widget\"
