KILIMANJARO DAY HIKE
The day hike starts from your hotel location whether is at Arusha or Moshi drive from to Marangu gate after permitted then hike begin on time ascent to Mandara huts further optional to Maundi crater the crater might see a nice view of the mountain top and lake Challa a unique crater lake found 30 km from the base of the mountain nearing Kenya border.
This hike through Rainforest/Montane zone is among five zonations of mountain Kilimanjaro found at an elevation of 1800-2800 meters above the sea level the zone has an average temperature of 18-25 degrees centigrade through their vary with seasonal changes, the amount of rainfall received per annum measures from 2000-3000mm
the trail is gentle steep has got a nickname “coca-cola” which the stable forest here give wide eyes catching for common wildlife such as Blue/sky monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, army/red /safari antes crossing, tree hyrax, some insects, etc.., differents species of plants plus Kilimanjaro impatiens flower, small waterfall as streams flowing over and many more attractions will see around here
this hike will need you to sign in at Marangu gate at least morning 10 a.m and hike begin the same time up and return before 6 p.m then drive back to the hotel although there is much information around the gate area also Lauwo waterfall nearby if you aim to hike to Mandara huts or Maundi crater try to forget about things will make you delay and bit the trail up for a sure abundance of attractions will keep you enjoying this hike to Mandara huts along the way up and down often you will meet with summit climbers as other on the final day and other on the first day preserve you with more experience of mount Kilimanjaro.

Distance; 8.4 km /5miles ascent to Maundi crater in the total distance up and down is 16km to cover
Kilimanjaro day hike takes to a whole stable forest ecosystem which has got some animals species like Black and White colabus monkeys ,Blue monkeys and Birds mountain species are common on the way up and down.
MARANGU GATE TO MAUNDI CRATER VIA MANDARA HUTS
Duration;3-4 hours ascent to Mandara huts and 15-20 minutes to Maundi crater return to Marangu gate 2-3 hours in total 6-7 hours walk

The entire day up and down not very steep as from the first section is light smoothly few of the upstairs wooden floors also very fewer rocks sections although if it has rains some parts of the ground floor are sliding.
THE SHIRA PLATEAU ROUTE DAY TRIP
Arusha to Londorosi gate to Murum Barrier or Shira 1 camp or Simba cave campsite
This day trip its take most of the time in driving from Arusha to the registration gate almost 3 hours drive then after permit at Londorosi gate back to the vehicle drive an hour again toward to Murum Barrier point where is capable to view the mountain and Plateau beginning from this point is great to take off to the vehicle and walk to Shira 1 camp which distance is about 3.75km altitude gained 99m while Morum Barrier to Simba cave campsite is 6.5km and altitude gained is 215m which looks too far for a day trip and altitude approach, and up Morum Barrier or take a super hike to Shira 1 camp which will take you 3-4 hours go and return and drive back to Arusha will be a perfect day trip
These are beautiful Kilimanjaro day trip which might get a fantastic view of Kibo peak and Shira Plateau, a cathedral with high enjoyable of Moorland zone support some birds, monkeys life after had a drive-through cultivation area and natural forest toward to Morum Barrier point
