History of the park
The Name Serengeti come from Maasai word “Siringeti”referring to an endless plain as you stand on the southern grass plains,you experience this vastness and can witness one of the greatest concentrations of plain animals left on earth.

Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara is the world loveliest lake in the world
The park was established in 1960.
From Arusha southwest 120 km (80 miles ) west of Arusha town along the Makuyuni Ngorongoro road
it covers an area of 648 km squire whereby 220km squire is covered by lake and 428 km squire is the land
The park is situated along the base of the Rift Valley wall escarpment which gives it a scenic backdrop
The large variety of habitats including the acacia woodland, Groundwater forest, and the Rift Valley wall ridge.
Lake Manyara National Park hosts tree climbing lions but this fact most people misinterpret it claiming and knowing that its only occur in this park only not true .
The tree-climbing lion is sometimes seen in trees 6-7m from the ground leading sluggish life with their limbs dangling.
The altitude of the park ranges from 960- 1500m above sea level and the Rainfall amount annually is 1200-1500 mm
The Rainfall varies from 20-26 degrees centigrade

TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
The park was named after the Tarangire River which attracts much wildlife during the dry season
The park was established 1970 m
from Arusha – southwest Arusha is 120km
it covers an area of 2850 km squire.

Origin of name
The park derived its name from local Wambungwe people (tribe) who used to live surroundings and within the park this means; the River of warthog/Pumba.
