We did the 7 day New Lemosho Route as recommended by our guide Frank from Utaalam Guide, which i already knew from a previous Trek in Mount Meru. Not only was the scenery on the Route amazing, but we were most of the time alone in the camps, which was really nice as i hate crowds in the mountains. My boyfriend and i were both going for the first time higher than 4500m, but this Route and the expertise of the team was perfect to smoothly acclimatize, so we didn’t have any problems to reach the top. Frankis is one awesome guide and with the help of his, we summited Uhuru Peak. He is friendly and very supportive and with him being around, it is a guarantee that you are going to summit. I summited Kilimanjaro three years ago with Frank John as Lead Guide. Everyone in our seven-member party summited and returned safely, thanks to Frank’s leadership, experience, and supervision of Assistant Guides and support personnel. Utaalam Guides is now under his proven leadership. Choosing a trekking company is critically important for ensuring the best Tanzanian experience. I plan to use them for my next trip to East Africa! We had a fantastic climb on Kilimanjaro with Frank as our lead guide. The route we chose was to go to the summit over 8 days by the Western Breach. Certainly not the easiest route but we were successful in reaching the snow covered top of the mountain. It was an amazing experience to enjoy the forests and the giant heather. And of course the climb to the summit was a great challenge well rewarded.
This trekking was a unique experience, the whole team was competent, friendly and supportive! The food was really good as well as the equipment (tents…). You could really feel that the team was like a family and all were very experienced. I can only recommend Utaalam Guides, in particular the guide Frank and assistant guide Tongei. If you are not sure which route is the best for you, just write to Frank on WhatsApp and he will advise you, depending on your previous experience, time of year and wishes !
